Atashi was born in 1980 in Tehran, Iran where she worked for a while in Media and Television. She is among the youngest Iranian photographers whose work is regularly displayed by the Silk Road Gallery in Tehran and since 2004, in various exhibitions and international arts fairs. In November 2007 she participated in Photoquai, the First Biennale of Images of the World alongside and by the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris.
