Farshid Mesghali
Mesghali was born in Ispahan in 1943. He now lives and works in Tehran. While studying Art at the University of Tehran he began his professional career as a graphic designer and illustrator, then he making short films for children. He then began his successful career as a photographer. Recently he created colourful sculptures made of metallic structure covered with painted plaster bands which have attracted the interest of collectors at international art fairs.

He has had exhibitions in Tehran, Los Angeles and Amsterdam. Silk Road Gallery presented his works at Art Paris Grand Palais and Art Paris Abu Dhabi in 2007, at Arco 2007, at Photo London and Dfoto in 2005 and Paris Photo in 2004.

In November 2007 he participated in Photoquai, the First Biennale of Images of the World alongside and by the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris.

Mesghali has won many awards for his short films and his graphic works including the Grand prize in Italy at the Giffonni Film Festival in 1977, the special prize at Moscow Film Festival and in 1973 the special prize at Venice Film Festival.
He won the first graphic prize in Bologna at the Sixth International Children Book Fair in 1968 and a special prize at Cannes Film Festival Poster exhibition in 1974.
